It was an absolute joy to read Strange Practice, the first novel in the Dr. Greta Helsing series by Vivian Shaw. This story is so much fun with its quirky concept, adorable doctor, and her, not so ordinary, friends. All the characters are both well-developed and well-written so it is easy to love every single one of them, and love them I do.
In addition to what I’ve already said, Strange Practice is easy to read. Given its description, I expected a stuffy, dreary, London-type Penny Dreadful novel (not that I don’t love Penny Dreadful), but it’s nothing like that all. At least I don’t feel it is.
The second book in the series doesn’t release until the end of the month. I enjoyed this book so much, I have book two preordered. I can’t wait to read more of Greta and the gang.

Meet Greta Helsing, fast-talking doctor to the undead. Keeping the supernatural community not-alive and well in London has been her family’s specialty for generations.
Greta Helsing inherited the family’s highly specialized, and highly peculiar, medical practice. In her consulting rooms, Dr. Helsing treats the undead for a host of ills – vocal strain in banshees, arthritis in barrow-wights, and entropy in mummies. Although barely making ends meet, this is just the quiet, supernatural-adjacent life Greta’s been groomed for since childhood.
Until a sect of murderous monks emerges, killing human and undead Londoners alike. As terror takes hold of the city, Greta must use her unusual skills to stop the cult if she hopes to save her practice, and her life.
