Soooo…I did what I try not to do with this series, I didn’t read the books in order. It’s not so much that I’m OCD about it, but I do prefer reading in order, even if the books are touted as being standalones. But after listening to The Learning Hours I knew I’d be making time to get to the first two, especially Zeke’s book, and whadda know? I really enjoyed The Studying Hours. Oz and James’ journey had me laughing and rolling my eyes in equal measure while I kept turning the pages until the very end.

The descriptions of both Oz and James in the synopsis are definitely on point, but as always there is so much more to both of them. Oz is relentless when he wants something and though he is crude, and is a douchebag, there is a sweet, and quite honorable side to that intrigued me. James was all kinds of fun. Snarky, sweet and hard working. I loved how comfortable she was in her own skin. What people saw on the surface wasn’t a lie in any way, but it was what was going on underneath that made her a lot of fun.

With Oz being a douche and James being snarky, their journey gave me whiplash, but in a good way. I know that sounds strange, but it made watching them both fall that much more fun. There was quite a bit of push/pull between them, but the chemistry was always there. They had their issues, but I loved how everything worked out in the end for them.

The Studying Hours was a fun read. I was hooked from the start and had a difficult time putting it down. Simply based on the description of Oz it’s very safe to say that things do get a little crazy, but it’s balanced out with some great heartfelt moments. And as for the secondary caste of characters, I liked them all, but I’m all about Zeke, so it’s time to get my hands on The Failing Hours and find out what makes that douchebag tick!

Studying Hours by Sara Ney

CRUDE. ARROGANT. A**HOLE.

No doubt about it, Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is the university’s most celebrated student athlete—and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn’t give a sh*t about what you or anyone else thinks.

SMART. CLASSY. CONSERVATIVE.

Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university’s most diligent student—but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags—and Oz Osborne is all three.

She’s smart, sarcastic—and not what he expected.

…EVERY DOUCHBAG HAS HIS WEAKNESS.

He wants to be friends.

He wants to spend time with her.

He wants to drive her crazy.

He wants…

Her.
